Services and Supports for Veterans, Military, Service Members and Their Families

  • Applying for Benefits – provides information on how to apply for benefits, downloadable forms, and links to assist with the application process.
  • Benefits – provides information on benefit programs and eligibility for these programs.
  • Caregiver Support - if you are the Family Caregiver of a Veteran who was injured post-9/11, you may be eligible for additional services through VA, including a stipend, comprehensive training and medical coverage through VA.
  • Crisis Prevention - Connects Veterans in crisis and their families and friends with qualified responders through a confidential toll-free hotline, online chat, or text. Veterans and their loved ones can call 1 (800) 273-8255, chat online, or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
  • Employment - state of New Hampshire Department of Employment Security – provides a range of free employment services resources and tools to assist in the job search process. NHES provides priority of service to veterans and eligible spouses for the receipt of employment and training services. 
  • HealthCare – provides information on the Veterans Health Administration health programs.
  • Military Life - Military One Source provides information on all aspects of military life.
  • Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) - the U.S. Department of Labor VETS provides resources and expertise to assist and prepare veterans and transitioning service members to obtain meaningful careers, maximize their employment opportunities, and protect their employment rights.

NH Resources

  • NH State Office of Veterans Services - the State Office of Veterans Services is a state agency whose task is to assist New Hampshire veterans, and their families, to obtain all the benefits and preferences to which they may be entitled under any state or federal laws or regulations.
  • New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery mission of the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery is to provide and maintain a dignified final-resting place to honor all veterans and eligible dependents which expresses the State's gratitude for their service to the country.  The New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery conveys peace through natural beauty and is a source of pride to veterans' families and residents of New Hampshire.
  • New Hampshire Veterans Home- The mission of the New Hampshire Veterans Home is to provide high quality, professional, long-term care services to the Granite State's elderly and disabled veterans with compassion, respect, and dignity.
  • Easter Seals Military and Veterans Services - in partnership with Veterans Count, responds to the unmet needs of Service Members, Veterans, and their Families to ensure that they can thrive in their communities. 
  • Harbor Homes’ Veterans FIRST program - provides a mix of affordable housing, employment, and supportive services to end or prevent homelessness among veterans and their families who live in New Hampshire.
  • Northeast Passage - provides adaptive sports and recreation and community-based recreation therapy services for veterans and military personnel.
